whoops
i didnt realise how long it had been since i blogged. my bad.
its now november which means the leaves are all sorts of colours, the days shorter, the temperature is starting to fall, my skin is drying out and my hair looks like a dried out haystack.
it also means we're coming into silly season and i fear my liver and i may not see 2012. there isnt a weekend left in 2011 that i dont have something planned. except this one. i plan to take myself out on a leisurely stroll around one of the big london parks, camera in one hand, hot choccy in the other.
today was meant to be my last day with this company, but they didnt want me to leave so they gave me a gigantic raise. i'm glad. i like it here. and i'm going to like it in london a lot more now that i can be a little frivilous while maintaining a good savings account.
not to say that i dont love london at the moment because i really really do. i'm back in the frame of mind of wondering how i could ever want to leave this place, but i'm sure i'll find my niche in whichever australian city i decide to reside in. at the moment though, london is my home and i wouldnt have it any other way.

6 months
Tomorrow, being the 18th of October, marks my 6 month countdown of time left in London.
On the weekend I went ahead and booked seven trips before I had a chance to think about if my savings would cover it. Luckily, most of the time I am a kickass saver and I dont need to cancel anything!
On the 18th of April, I will leave London and head to Turkey. And that is where the big adventure will begin.

someone needs a chill pill...
I've been a bit of a negative nancy lately. I let homesickness get the better of me and ended up in a constant self pity-party. While I miss everyone back home, I need to remind myself that I will do this once and there is no point in wishing my remaining time away.
I'm getting all cranky about the nights / days out that I am missing and not looking at the big picture. I can count on one hand the events that I have been most upset to miss. I need two hands to count the amount of countries I have seen in the past year.
I'm getting all antsy about the changes people are making with their lives back home and in the past year I have had 5 different jobs and 4 different houses and about 100 different plan-of-attacks. Not to mention the replay of that that will most likely happen when I get home as well.
Dude, chill...
Less than a year. Less than 365 days. Its nothing.
I'll end up coming home and wanting to be back here and missing the life I had here. I'll miss it like I miss my home right now because for 2 years of my life, London was my home.
Ahhh, I'll survive :-) Whats life without a couple of curveballs, right?
